Ashadhi Wari 2025 – Welcoming Ceremony
The festival of Ashadhi Wari, a unique and sacred spiritual tradition of Maharashtra, is celebrated with deep devotion every year. The Pandharpur Yatra, with the Palkhi processions of saints and thousands of Warkaris walking on foot while chanting the holy name of Lord Vitthal, represents the spiritual soul of our state.
This year, as always, the Palkhi of Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj begins from Dehu, and the Palkhi of Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj begins from Alandi, both headed towards Pandharpur. Lakhs of Warkaris are joining this divine pilgrimage, filled with devotion and dedication.
The Pune Municipal Corporation and all Punekars are fully prepared to welcome both Palkhis into Pune city with warmth, care and devotion. As the Warkaris begin their journey from the banks of the Indrayani River, their destination is the holy Chandrabhaga River at Pandharpur.
